The Strabrecht Theatre Foundation has its origins in extra-curricular cultural activities taking place at the local secondary school, Strabrecht College. In course of time, chamber music concerts, performed at the castle, proved to be so successful that, in 1981, the Strabrecht Theatre Foundation was set up.

Classical chamber music concerts on Sunday afternoons at the castle, with coffee and tea being served during the interval, turned out to be a hit. The concerts´ consistent high quality has made the Strabrecht Theatre one of the principal small chamber music venues in the region. In mid-2007 this quality was further enhanced by the arrival of a fine Steinway grand piano.
